Go Electric Tapped For Another Military Project

ANDERSON – Anderson-based Go Electric Inc. has announced it will take part in a demonstration microgrid project at the Fort Custer Training Center in Michigan. Electricore Inc., a California-based nonprofit consortium, has awarded Go Electric a nearly $500,000 contract to provide a battery energy storage system for the project.

The Michigan Army National Guard is hosting the project. Go Electric says the microgrid being developed “will enhance power surety, energy resilience, distributed generation management and demand response, while contributing to the critical power needs of nearby military installations.”

In addition to delivering the battery energy storage system, or BESS, Go Electric will provide engineering support for the installation and commissioning of the system into the microgrid.

“We are pleased to deliver our third military microgrid project,” said Lisa Laughner, chief executive officer of Go Electric. “Our continuing collaboration with Department of Defense microgrid programs will further grow and validate our technology.”

In July, Go Electric received a $1.7 million contract for similar work on a microgrid project at the Tooele Army Depot in Utah. In an interview with Inside INdiana Business at the time, Laughner said “every contract helps” and each contract is further validation of the company’s technology.
