Mimir Acquires Chicago Tech Company

November 10, 2017

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis-based Mimir has announced the acquisition of Omnipointment Inc., a tech company based in Chicago. Mimir has also launched a new product aimed at streamlining the interview process for computer programming positions.

Mimir’s main cloud-based software platform, Mimir Classroom, helps computer science teachers assess students’ performance, strengths and weaknesses. The company says the acquisition of Omnipointment and its signature platform, Charter, will enhance Mimir Classroom. Charter is a group project tool that helps collegiate students arrange times to collaborate and gives instructors data to assess team performance.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Mimir says its new web-based platform, Mimir Interview, was designed for recruiters and hiring managers. It creates a controlled environment for applicants to demonstrate their coding abilities rather than using whiteboards and paper.

“Mimir Interview will help recruiters and hiring managers assess external candidates and establish a benchmark for internal candidates too,” said Prahasith Veluvolu, chief executive officer of Mimir. “Beyond building a new product that further supports the computer science lifecycle, we’re excited to continue to improve our core product, Mimir Classroom, with the acquisition of Omnipointment.”

In July, Mimir announced plans to expand its downtown Indianapolis headquarters and hire more than 100 employees by 2021. The company says the acquisition will help it reach that goal.
