Bloomington-based volunteer management platform Civic Champs has received another investment from Elevate Ventures in Indianapolis. Civic Champs says the investment, which brings the company’s total funding to $1 million since 2019, will be used to grow its sales and engineering teams.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Geng Wang says the company aims to leverage the funding to quadruple revenue in 2021.
“The consistent support that Elevate Ventures has provided has been incredible,” Wang said. “Elevate has been in our court every step of the way. It’s nice to know we have a true partner that cares about us and is easy to work with.”
The $1 million funding total includes earlier funding from Elevate’s Community Ideation Fund, the Elevate Nexus Regional Pitch Competition, the Flywheel Fund and IU Ventures.
Civic Champs says it was able to launch Helping Hands in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program links volunteers with high-risk individuals to help with daily chores.
The company says it now supports 61 nonprofits in 23 states.
