INDIANAPOLIS – The co-founder and chief executive officer of Indianapolis-based Codelicious says the $940,000 round of funding the company recently secured will help achieve aggressive growth goals. Christine McDonnell says the company hopes to grow the number of clients from the current 10 to 100 by the end of the year and eventually expand the “Curriculum-as-a-Service” platform nationally and internationally.
Codelicious develops subscription-based computer science curricula for teachers in grades 3-8. In an interview with Inside INdiana Business Reporter Mary-Rachel Redman, McDonnell said the company sits at the intersection of education and technology.
“We are creating access and increasing educators’ and students’ ability to teach and learn computer science,” McDonnell said. “This is a very exciting time for Codelicious.”
McDonnell says the company is looking to achieve 100 paying customers and close to three-quarters-of-a-million dollars by the end of the year. She says Codelicious is also planning to add more than 30 jobs over the next three years.
McDonnell says having a product that helps develop foundational skills early for students will greater prepare them for the workforce later in life.
