HelloFrom Greeting Card Firm Lands Expansion Funding
- News,
South Bend, Ind. (April 19, 2022) – HelloFrom has closed a funding round totaling $500,000 including an investment from Leighton Elevate Angel Development (LEAD) Fund. HelloFrom plans to use the funds to evolve its product and expand sales and marketing.
HelloFrom was launched in 2021 by CEO Ryan Biggs. The company helps remind customers about important occasions while taking the stress out of finding, buying, writing and sending a greeting card. The platform sends users reminders with a personalized selection of greeting cards. After selecting a card, HelloFrom physically sends the customer the card, an envelope, a stamp and a brief suggestion of what to write on the card.
“The team at HelloFrom has a big vision to disrupt a low-tech market of greeting cards,” said Nicholas Kuhn, Elevate Ventures’ entrepreneur-in-residence serving Startup South Bend-Elkhart, a partnership focused on startups in north-central Indiana. “Several companies have attempted automated services, but can’t replace handwritten notes, and HelloFrom seeks to step into that gap by making the process simple and the connections more personal.”
The LEAD Fund was launched in 2021 by Judd Leighton Foundation and Elevate Ventures to provide capital for startups in Elkhart, Marshall or St. Joseph counties.
HelloFrom received a $20,000 investment from Elevate’s Community Ideation Fund in 2021.
“I feel extremely fortunate that the LEAD Fund committee understood HelloFrom’s vision from the beginning,” said Biggs. “We are solving a real need for an audience that loves our service. We wouldn’t have the strong local team based here in South Bend without these funds.”
